Former Meta AI director Rohit Patel has left the company after eight years to launch his own startup, Ndoc. The new platform aims to challenge popular workplace tools such as Microsoft Office and Google Workspace by bringing documents, data analysis and presentations into one place. Ndoc is designed to reduce the need to switch between different apps while working. It combines presentations, written reports, datasets and Python code in a single workspace.
Patel believes that simply adding AI features to existing spreadsheets is not enough. Instead, he wants to change how people create, analyse and present information using AI. Ndoc has three main sections, Stage for presentations and dashboards, Narrative for written analysis and charts, and Model for datasets and the code behind calculations. This setup allows users to check how AI produces its results instead of blindly trusting them.
The startup currently has a three person team and has not raised outside funding, according to the report. It is testing the product with selected business users and offering early access through a waiting list. Patel plans to release a wider beta version soon, with a full launch targeted for 2027. Ndoc faces strong competition from Microsoft and Google, which already offer AI tools in their workplace software. Its success will depend on whether businesses find its new approach useful enough to switch.
