Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpayee is back on OTT screens with his latest crime thriller Gajab Raat streaming now on Netflix. Directed by Ritesh Shah and backed by filmmaker Neeraj Pandey the film explores a murky world of police corruption political power games and a high stakes conspiracy set across a single night.
The story kicks off when a morally flexible police officer stumbles upon a brutally beaten young woman abandoned on a Delhi street. What starts as a routine local case soon snowballs into a massive international conspiracy involving dirty politicians and hidden agendas. While the single night timeline tries to build fast paced tension and urgency the screenplay often struggles with predictable twists and pacing issues.
Despite a shaky script and average narrative loops veteran actor Manoj Bajpayee delivers a phenomenal performance as the flawed shape shifting cop. His nuanced portrayal of fluctuating morality completely anchors the film keeping viewers hooked. Supported by a strong cast including Divya Dutta and Nushrratt Bharuccha Gajab Raat turns out to be a decent one time watch purely because Bajpayee powerhouse acting almost single handedly rescues the uneven Delhi crime drama.
