In a proud moment for Indian science, the United States has officially invited the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) to join its ambitious Moon base programme. The major announcement was made by US Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, during recent discussions, highlighting an important leap forward in deep space partnership.

Speaking on this historic development, Ambassador Gor stated that Washington firmly wants India by our side as humans prepare to return to the lunar surface. The project focuses on creating a continuous, longterm human presence near the Moons South Pole under NASAs Artemis missions.

This official invitation reflects the rapidly growing trust between both nations. India signed the US led Artemis Accords in 2023, paving the diplomatic path for joint deep space efforts. According to Ambassador Gor, this space partnership is moving quickly from standard cooperation into full co creation and operational integration.

India and the US already share strong aerospace ties through several active projects. These include the joint NISAR earth observation satellite mission and astronaut training programs like Axiom 4, which will send an Indian astronaut to the International Space Station. By joining the Moon base mission, Indian scientists will help construct vital infrastructure on lunar soil. This historic step cements India's global reputation as a premier space power for years to come.
