Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke was detained by Delhi Police after his flight landed at Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport on Saturday, October 10. He had travelled from Mumbai to join a planned protest at Jantar Mantar against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. A video shared by Dipke shows police personnel entering the aircraft and approaching him and other CJP leaders. During the incident, Dipke was heard saying, I have come here to be arrested. Arrest me. Police personnel asked him to cooperate as they took him from the plane.

Two other CJP leaders, Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, were also detained after arriving in Delhi. The party criticised the action and demanded their release, saying the detentions affected their right to travel and protest. The leaders had planned to protest at Jantar Mantar over alleged irregularities in voter lists during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. The campaign has demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The Election Commission has faced criticism over voter list changes, while officials have defended the revision process.

Delhi Police had denied permission for the planned protest, citing security and law and order concerns. Security arrangements were tightened across the capital ahead of the demonstration, with restrictions affecting transport and public movement. The detention has brought fresh attention to the planned protest and the wider debate over voter lists, election reforms and the right to peaceful demonstration.
