In a major shock for millions of Indian families, India's food safety regulator, FSSAI, has started strict legal prosecution against three well known food companies for selling unsafe products. The regulatory authority found severe health violations that directly threaten the wellbeing of consumers across the country. First, FSSAI caught Surya Food & Agro, the manufacturer of popular Priyagold biscuits, using cattle feed bran as a raw material for fibre in their products.
Inspectors discovered bags clearly intended for animal feed being mixed into human food production lines. The manufacturing licence of the company was immediately suspended due to unhygienic conditions and poor pest control. Second, laboratory tests on full cream milk from Dodla Dairy revealed dangerous chemicals like detergent and caustic soda. The milk sample failed standard quality checks, had extremely low milk fat levels, and was officially declared unsafe and substandard for human consumption.
Third, UEIR Organic Foods is facing strict legal action after official tests found hazardous pesticide residues in their yellow raisins. The pesticide levels were found to be far above the safe legal limits prescribed under food safety regulations. FSSAI confirmed that formal prosecution has been launched under the Food Safety and Standards Act against all three manufacturers. Angry consumers across India are now demanding harsh penalties for these dangerous health violations.
