Indian Railways and major domestic airlines have officially stepped up operations to manage the massive travel rush for the upcoming festival season. With millions of people traveling back home for Durga Puja, Diwali, and Chhath Puja, transport authorities are adding thousands of extra trips on high demand routes connecting major metros to Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and West Bengal.

To ensure seamless journeys for passengers, Indian Railways is running over 8,400 special train trips alongside more than 3.4 lakh regular service trips scheduled across October and November. Railway authorities have also set up temporary holding areas and holding zones at busy stations like New Delhi, Patna, and Howrah to control station crowds and simplify boarding procedures.

At the same time, major Indian airlines are increasing flight frequencies and introducing extra non stop flights along heavy passenger corridors. Due to heavy booking demand on routes like Mumbai Patna, Bengaluru Kolkata, and Delhi Varanasi, airlines are adding extra aircraft capacity to help travelers reach their hometowns comfortably and on schedule.

Travelers are strongly advised to check flight status updates and book train seats early to avoid last minute delays and high ticket fares. For real time updates on special schedules, route lists, and online seat availability, passengers can visit the official Indian Railways IRCTC Portal.
