Social media giant Meta has introduced a new voluntary exit plan for its workforce, offering a very generous severance package. Under this new scheme, eligible employees who choose to leave the company can receive up to 2.15 months of salary for every single year they have worked there.
The company is rolling out this option as part of its ongoing internal restructuring. Major technology companies around the world are currently shifting their focus heavily toward artificial intelligence and newer technologies. Instead of forcing sudden layoffs, Meta is giving workers an attractive choice to step down voluntarily.
Along with the high severance payout, the reported exit plan includes up to 10 months of mobility leave. During this transition period, departing staff members will continue to receive eighty percent of their regular gross salary. Meta is also looking into providing extra assistance for people who want to learn new professional skills, change their career paths, or start their own independent business ventures. Industry watchers note that similar voluntary buyout schemes have also been adopted by other tech leaders like Google and Microsoft. This trend allows large corporations to reduce their overall team size smoothly while providing financial security to workers who want to explore new career opportunities.
