The fourth day of Navratri is dedicated to Maa Kushmanda, the divine fourth form of Goddess Durga. Hindu traditions tell us that Maa Kushmanda created the universe with her gentle, radiant smile. She resides in the center of the Sun, giving energy, light, and warmth to the entire world. Worshipping her on this auspicious day brings good health, wealth, happiness, and peace to your family.

To receive maximum blessings, perform the puja during the morning Brahma Muhurat between 4:30 AM and 5:20 AM, or during Abhijit Muhurat between 11:45 AM and 12:30 PM. Early morning prayers help clear your mind and fill your home with positive energy. Morning Prep, Wake up early, take a bath, and wear clean clothes. Yellow or royal blue attire is considered very auspicious for Day 4. Setup, Clean your home mandir and light a pure ghee diya in front of Maa Kushmanda and the Kalash. Offerings, Apply kumkum, haldi, and akshat (rice) to the goddess. Offer fresh red or yellow flowers. Chanting, Sit peacefully and chant her primary mantra 108 times, "Om Devi Kushmandayai Namah". Aarti, Conclude the worship by performing the Durga Aarti with dhoop and camphor.

Maa Kushmanda loves Malpua (sweet fried pancakes). Offering fresh Malpua as bhog pleases the deity and is believed to remove long standing health issues. You can also offer green pumpkin, fresh seasonal fruits (like bananas and apples), and milk based sweets. If you are observing a vrat on Day 4, strictly eat Satvik food such as fruits, milk, sabudana, and kuttu flour. Avoid grains, non vegetarian food, onions, garlic, and common salt. Maintain a peaceful mind, avoid anger, and share the prasad with your loved ones.
