Toyota is preparing to unveil its updated Fortuner SUV globally on December 1, 2026. The upcoming model is expected to feature significant design and technology upgrades, while retaining the rugged character that has made the Fortuner popular among SUV buyers. The India launch is expected in 2027, although the company has not confirmed an exact date.
Toyota Fortuner Facelift, Expected Design Changes
Spy shots of camouflaged test vehicles suggest a redesigned front fascia, featuring a more upright grille, slimmer lighting elements, a taller bonnet and revised bumper styling. The SUV is expected to retain its muscular stance, prominent wheel arches and practical side steps.
At the rear, a redesigned tailgate, updated tail-lamp graphics and a connected LED light strip are anticipated. Final design details will be revealed at the official debut. The updated Fortuner could receive a significantly modernised cabin inspired by the latest Toyota Hilux. Expected additions include a larger touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, improved connectivity and upgraded dashboard materials.
Additional driver assistance technologies, potentially including adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assistance, may also be offered, depending on the variant and market. The familiar 2.8 litre diesel engine is expected to continue, alongside manual and automatic transmission options. Four wheel drive may remain available on selected variants. Toyota is expected to announce complete specifications, features and market specific details at the global reveal. Indian pricing and the launch timeline remain unconfirmed.
