Apple is taking a giant gamble in the global laptop market, betting that millions of loyal consumers will pay a steep price premium for its upcoming touchscreen MacBook Pro models. Industry experts expect high buyer interest as the tech giant finally brings touch capabilities and vibrant OLED display screens to its flagship computer lineup.

Reports suggest the new 14 inch OLED touchscreen MacBook Pro will start at 2,899 dollars, marking a 400 dollar jump over traditional non-touch variants. Meanwhile, the larger 16 inch touchscreen version could touch 3,399 dollars. To ensure smooth daily usage, Apple engineers have redesigned the screen hinge mechanism to keep the display completely steady when tapped, alongside adding thinner screen borders and improved cooling systems.

For over a decade, Apple resisted adding touch screens to Mac laptops, arguing that keyboards and trackpads provided far better comfort for professional tasks. However, strong demand for high end hardware has convinced executives that users are ready to embrace touchscreen controls on macOS. To support traditional buyers, Apple will continue offering standard non-touch models at lower prices.
