The new region is now live and has been positioned as a strategic hub for Asia and the Global South. Hyderabad becomes the fourth Microsoft cloud region in India after Pune Chennai and Mumbai. The Hyderabad region has a three zone design that is built to support important cloud and AI workloads. Microsoft said the new infrastructure will help Indian organisations run eligible cloud services closer to their data and operations. The expansion is part of Microsoft investment commitment of 20.5 billion dollars in India. According to Microsoft companies including Adani Group, Bajaj Finserv, HDFC Bank, and PB Pay have already signed up on the new region. Microsoft also said that its cloud regions across India now have AI capable infrastructure. The company has trained more than 10 million Indians in AI skills and aims to reach 20 million people by 2030.
