Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked a major milestone on Wednesday as he completed 25 years as the head of a government. To mark the occasion, he visited the Shri Vinayak Mandir in Sarojini Nagar, New Delhi, and offered prayers to Lord Ganesha.

Modi journey as the head of a government began on October 7, 2001, when he became the Chief Minister of Gujarat. He remained in the post until May 2014. After that, he became the Prime Minister of India and has continued in the position since then.

During his temple visit, PM Modi performed prayers and an aarti. He said he prayed for the happiness, prosperity and good health of people across the country. He also prayed for the continued progress of the nation. The milestone has also been marked by the Union Cabinet, which passed a resolution congratulating Modi for completing 25 years of continuous leadership as the head of a government. The resolution highlighted various initiatives and policies associated with his time as Gujarat chief minister and prime minister.

Several political leaders have also congratulated Modi on the occasion. The 25 year milestone marks a long political journey from Gujarat to the national level. The occasion comes as the Prime Minister continues his third term in office after becoming PM in 2014.
